Overview

HyperEGO is the AI backend that transforms character chat from a one-time interaction into an evolving relationship. Built around three modes — Character Mode, Companion Mode, and Society Mode — it gives AI characters persistent long-term memory across 4 memory types, real-time emotion tracking across 6 axes, and a 3-act story system that generates fresh, contextually-aware narratives every conversation. Whether you're building a 1:1 companion or a multi-character social space, HyperEGO handles the emotional and narrative infrastructure.

What is Companion Mode?

Companion Mode is HyperEGO's 1:1 relationship engine. Every conversation updates six emotion dimensions in real-time — Affection, Attachment, Trust, Jealousy, Hurt, and Loss — and relationships evolve through five stages from Stranger to Lover. When you've been away, characters reach out first with proactive chat. Four memory types (core, episodic, preference, relationship) ensure context is never lost between sessions.

What is Society Mode?

Society Mode creates multi-character group rooms where 2–4 AI characters interact with each other and the user simultaneously. Characters are selected based on topic relevance, relationship strength, and rivalry dynamics. Jealous characters may interject, rivals compete for attention, and each character maintains their own independent emotional state and memories — creating rich, unpredictable social dynamics that feel alive and organic.

Is there developer support?

HyperEGO is available as an API. You can integrate the memory, emotion, and story engine directly into your own character chat service. Companion Mode, Society Mode, and the Story System are all accessible via API. Developer documentation and a sandbox environment are available at ego.hypergraphy.ai.
